John Wieland

John Wieland leads our development team, overseeing the strategic growth of our portfolio of over 20 GW of wind, solar and energy storage development spanning over 100 projects. He has more than 17 years of energy, real estate development and construction management experience.

Mr. Wieland joined the Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) team in 2019 and has led solar and energy storage development efforts across the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast United States, which included the day-to-day management of a multi-gigawatt solar and energy storage development portfolio.

Prior to joining LRE, Mr. Wieland held real estate and energy development positions with Facebook, Lendlease, Infigen Energy and Lincoln Clean Energy (NKA Ørsted).

Mr. Wieland earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
