Our Sustainability Strategy And Goals:
Since LRE’s founding, sustainability has been at the heart of what we do and how we do it. We refined our sustainability strategy and roadmap, which focuses our efforts on three key areas: empowering our teams, driving clean energy excellence, and contributing to thriving environments and communities where we operate.
MATERIALITY ASSESSMENT
Our assessment leveraged industry standard frameworks such as the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Standards, the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to identify LRE’s most relevant factors.
We then gathered quantitative and qualitative data through robust interviews and in-depth surveys with key members across LRE’s internal and external stakeholder groups, resulting in the prioritization of the following topics.
CLEAN ENERGY EXCELLENCE
We’re dedicated to advancing the nation’s energy evolution and safeguarding the environment for future generations by delivering clean, reliable energy through responsible growth, development, and innovation. Our commitment to sustainability drives us to integrate eco-friendly practices at every stage of a project’s lifecycle, from ambitious goals aimed at promoting a low-carbon future to meticulous life-cycle management that prevents materials from ending up in landfills. We recycle decommissioned wind turbines and blades into new materials – such as reinforcing fibers for concrete and steel for NEXTracker’s solar tracking technology – while ensuring our business partners adhere to our stringent Supplier Code of Conduct.
THRIVING ENVIRONMENTS & COMMUNITIES
We contribute to the communities where we reside to strive to leave the land better than we found it. LRE considers the land, natural resources, and related ecosystems throughout every phase of a project’s lifecycle for all our sustainable energy solutions.
We collaborate with local experts in soil health, plant science, ecology, biology, regenerative agriculture, and rangeland management to develop comprehensive vegetation management and maintenance plans. From promoting conservation and restoration efforts to nurturing biodiversity, our program employs innovative methods like agrivoltaics. This approach integrates farming, grazing, and the cultivation of pollinator habitats and apiaries, fostering a diverse and resilient ecosystem.

GOVERNANCE
Underlying our three strategic pillars is our commitment to strong governance and ethical business practices to ensure we build trusted relationships, minimize risk, and strengthen our business. Our Employee Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct provide clear direction on the values and standards we expect internally and from our partners and suppliers.
LRE’s Board of Directors oversees our sustainability strategy, initiatives, policies, and data, ensuring progress throughout our ESG journey. The Compensation Committee focuses on DEI initiatives, while the ESG Steering Committee, led by senior leadership, sets strategic direction, approves projects, and sponsors sustainability efforts. Together, the ESG team and cross-functional working groups design and implement these initiatives across our operations.
