We’re advancing a low–carbon** future through innovation, responsible sourcing, meticulous land stewardship, and full–lifecycle sustainability throughout development and operation of our renewable energy projects.
Clean Energy Excellence
LRE advances energy independence and preserves the environment for future generations by providing clean, reliable energy through responsible growth, careful operations, and ongoing innovation. We are driven by our unwavering commitment to careful land stewardship and collective passion for protecting the environment.
ADVANCING A LOW-CARBON FUTURE
LRE increased our renewable energy capacity by 61 percent from 2021 – 2023, producing more than 13.9 million megawatt-hours (MWh). This is enough clean electricity to power over 1.4 million homes per year and avoid over 5.1 million metric tons of CO2e.
LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT
LRE is laser-focused on driving sustainable practices throughout all stages of our projects. From project inception to end-of-operation, we actively work to keep our materials out of landfills.
RECYCLING
Our land stewardship strategy involves recycling to reduce our waste footprint. Our decommissioned wind turbines and blades are recycled into new materials, such as the reinforcing fibers used to strengthen concrete and steel recycling that is used in NEXTracker’s solar tracking technology.
SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN
Our business partners adhere to LRE’s Supplier Code of Conduct. This outlines responsible procurement practices that consider the environmental, social, and ecological impact of components and equipment used for our projects. Responsible development is one of LRE’s core values, and we partner with manufacturers and suppliers that commit to preventing the use of forced labor.
Our Impact
Our greatest impact is the responsible production of renewable energy. This requires optimizing our wind, solar, and energy storage development and operations, and increasing the overall reliability and scalability of clean power generation.

Supporting The
Clean Energy Transition
We pride ourselves in providing a reliable source of clean energy for our customers, while helping them achieve their renewable energy and carbon reduction goals by providing electricity with zero emissions at the point of generation. Here are a few examples:
Partnership
SUPPORTING VERIZON’S SUSTAINABILITY GOALS.
LRE’s multi-year partnership with Verizon spans five projects totaling 640 MW will help Verizon achieve its sustainability goals of being net zero in its operational emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 2035.
Partnership
PROVIDING CLEAN, RENEWABLE ENERGY TO XCEL ENERGY FOR 25 YEARS.
Leeward announced that its Mountain Breeze Wind Farm (“Mountain Breeze”) in Weld County, Colorado has reached commercial operation and that the company has closed the funding under its tax equity financing for the project. Leeward procured the wind turbine equipment from GE Renewable Energy, and Citi provided tax equity financing of $162.9 million. Mountain Breeze sells its output to Xcel Energy – Colorado under a long-term power purchase agreement. Leeward also supplies renewable energy to Xcel Energy – Colorado from its nearby Cedar Creek Wind project in Weld County, and to Xcel Energy – Southwest from its Caprock Wind project in Quay County, New Mexico.
Our Goal:
Clean energy excellence is key to ensuring that renewable energy becomes the backbone of our energy infrastructure and helps drive our momentum towards a sustainable future.
